Has anyone heard from Shalanna? I've sent an email via flickr but have yet to get a response. I know we've had a few people who had to wait for molies or busy schedules, but I haven't heard from her since the first week of October...anyone know if she's still planning on participating??
I feel like a school-teacher right now, LOL, taking attendance :)
Just a note: please don't take my impatience for being pushy, LOL, I have a hard time waiting for surprises, LOL. I am totally the kid who gets caught opening her Christmas presents two weeks early and then frantically trying to wrap them back up before Mom catches me, hee hee. I will try to keep my struggles with being patient to myself *giggles**

Intro...Finally!
Hi all! My name is Tiffany and I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota with my partner and our four cats. I recently completed my art degree after many years of taking time off. Right now I'm working at a social services agency doing absolutely nothing to do with art, and am hoping to get my fix here.I love what I have seen so far and I'm hoping to have my moly ready to go by the end of the week.

Update!!
Just to keep everyone informed of the progress going on....I mailed out my moly this afternoon, it's on it's way to you Rose. Let me know when you get it, will you? I had a scary thought the other day..."Oh my god, what if my moly gets lost in the mail?!?!" So I decided to scan every single page, to remember it by (you know, just in case).
And what's even better than me mailing my moly off today? I received Amy's moly in the mail!!!! Woo hoo!! Went to check the mail box for my daily dose of junk mail and woot!! I actually had something!!
Amy - Just have to say...the scan didn't do your artwork justice. All those tiny little details and things that get lost when scanning work was such a nice surprise to view up close. And all with markers! I love it.

My Entry

Okay, so here it is...the first few pages of my moly. When deciding on which scene to use in my own book, I knew I wanted to include Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, so I looked up the part of the story they're in and was immediately smitten with the story of the Tweedles doing battle...so here is my version, complete with sauce pan helmet and pillowy padding. The scan kind of blurred up the cross-hatching I attempted to incorporate in the coloring stage, but I really wanted the color to be very soft. Rose, I hope you're ready...I'll be mailing this off sometime this week :)

Introduction - Sherrie Roberts
Here is my intro: My name is Sherrie Roberts aka, "QuiltKnit"- quiltknit.blogspot.com. I am from the South, however, I have lived and worked in Boston, MA, since, 1999. I have only my youngest son with me. We have no other family here. My son works for Apple and My other son works for the Army- Over There. I have drawn all my life. I have no memory of not having a needle, thread, pencil, crayon, or Bread in my hand. ( Yes, I cook, will publish some food shots later.) Oh, Yes, Ms Patches has agreed to pose for the "CAT". She rules the roost. I am a graduate of Graphical Technical Services, and Printing and Graphic Illustration. I began digital with the first PowerMac's that allowed the use of Adobe Photoshop at the 0.0001 edition, the QuarkXpress, PageMaker, Adobe Illustration, the animated ones etc. I am just now learning the new methods. ( I did not get the all powerful Art Job promised with "Phi Theta Kappa". ) I use all mediums, WC, WCP, Acrylics have really evolved, Oil, Pastels, Fountain Pens- really can say the best for sketching is the Lamy. I did get a Japanese Somiko and I look forward to my first Lamy with a black nib. I have been told it is the most smooth. I love graphite. I am also refreshing my memory with Alice. I have always loved my sketching books. Yes, I fell for the Moleskine here in Boston. It brought me back to my art. Strangly, Lynn the city I live in got me to be the artist I have always been. I will move the sketches into a Lynn, MA posting on Flickr.Sherrie Roberts

Introductions
Hello ladies! I thought it might be a good idea for all of us to create a small post, nothing too time consuming and introduce ourselves to the rest of the group. Maybe just include a note with your name, where you're from and what type of art you like or your favorite mediums to use. Thought I would get the ball rolling and maybe we can use this to help newbies get used to posting their work :)
My name is Kelley aka ilovetodoodle for flickr purposes, I live in Southern California with my boyfriend. I am an illustration graduate, however I still maintain a boring desk job until I get me a fancy art job :) I prefer to work with traditional mediums, paintbrush, pen and paper versus the computer, however in today's world I have to make sacrifices, lol, so digital mediums are also something I've forced myself to become familiar with. My new favorite: alias sketchbook.
As for my Wonderland moly, I finally received my moly order in the mail from Amazon on Tuesday and the drawings are under way, woo hoo!! I'm designing my intro pages and working on the layout...should have the drawing part done this weekend...I just can't seem to make myself stop, LOL. Hope everyone else has caught the exchange-bug like me, LOL!!

Finally, Success!!!
Yes that's right, we have lift off. Marty has fixed the problem, poor guy, I think he sets up too many blogs...that's the second time he's misspelled my name :) No worries, Marty, I blame my mother she had to go and spell my name different from just about every other "Kelly" on the planet, LOL. Anyhoo....
Ladies, are we all good to go? Everybody have everyone else's contact information now? Are we all able to make posts? Let us know if you hit any snags along the way, we want to keep this exchange running smoothly here on out :)
What do you all say to posting a short introduction? That way we get everyone used to posting new topics and we learn a little bit about the people we're swapping molys with...hmmm, that does sound a little strange, doesn't it, hee hee (maybe it's just me) LOL!!

Posting test
This is just to prove that I have posting access.
So, while we're still gathering a few more people, welcome to the Wonderland Exchange!
Delivery order still hasn't been finalised because we're still chasing up a few more participants, but in addition to the usual rules in Marty's post below, here's one more point:
Some people have indicated they don't want any mature-rated material in their molys eg. nudity, violence and gore, mostly. I think it's safe to assume that no one here naturally tends towards that kind of material anyway, but members who'd like a family-friendly moly should have their wishes respected.
So here's a good suggestion from some previous comments:
If you'd like a G-rated moly, please include a sticky note inside the front cover as a reminder when someone gets your book.
That would be much easier than trying to remember names (some of us are working on more than one exchange and things can get confusing VERY quickly).
If, like me, you are open to any content at all and don't wish to impose a rating on content, just leave your book as is and we'll all assume we can do anything as long as it fits the theme of Wonderland.
I would propose that we all get our books, do our first entries and get them on their way to the next person by Halloween.

Welcome to moly_x_51!
Moly_x_51, founded by Kelley Frisby (USA), is an extension of the Moleskine Exchange. This blog will follow the adventure of a group of artists around the world, in a Japanese fold Moleskine sketchbook exchange. Our current group includes the artists listed to the right, including contributors in many different countries all over the world.
Each artist will set off with a small Japanese (accordian) folded Moleskine. Creating a drawing, collage, or painting, then send on to the next artist. Each artist will draw on a couple of spreads (3-4 pages) then send it on to the next artist. When the artists book is filled, it will be returned to the owner with images created by artist around the world. Each artist has a month (give or take) to make an entry. The outcome will be a pleasant and surprising adventure, as artists are encouraged to interact and merge their art with others.
The concept:
1. The artists start with the Japanese fold Moleskine - Name, address, email address written in book.
2. Each artist gets 1 month (give or take) to make a sketchbook entry, and mail it to the next person. The order is listed to the right -- for participants in this exchange, look at the list of names under MAILING ORDER. If you ever need to update addresses, please feel free to contact your partners directly! An important part of this project is to discuss and exchange information and ideas.
3. Each artist will do 3-4 pages each round.
4. Artists are encouraged to interact with other images in the book. Please be respectful, but also don't hesitate to meld your art with earlier entries.
5. When the book is full, when one side of the unfolded book is filled, the book will be sent back to its original owner. That artist may continue by buying a new book and sending it to the next person.
6. If a person decides not to continue, she will simply keep her book when it comes back to her. She should email all of the participants to say she is not going to continue. We will decide, then, if we want to find a new person.
7. Please communicate regularly via email. Let each person know that you have received/sent the book. The goal is to have a dialogue. Any comments and questions are welcome.
